A word from our founder.
I know what the Blue Coat entrance exam feels like because I once sat it myself.
I gained a place in 2010 and became Head Boy in 2016.
From there, I went on to study at the University of Oxford.
But my experience with Blue Coat did not end when I left school.
For close to a decade, I have helped children prepare for the
same entrance exam.
I have seen what works — and what wastes valuable time. Almost every day, I hear from parents who have shelves full of books, two or three online subscriptions and a weekly tutor. But still, they don’t know if their child is on track. And they don’t know if they are taking the right steps to help them improve. That’s why I created Aspire. To make Blue Coat preparation simple, and ultra-effective.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes - almost all of the children that we work with already have a tutor. Our targeted, specialist workshops are designed to help students practice their skills in an intensive way, and work hand-in-hand with tutoring.
In a workshop, your child will work through over 100 Blue Coat practice questions with experts on-hand to help. They will develop confidence and accuracy in a fun and supportive environment.
Our workshops are led by former Blue Coat head boy and other Blue Coat alumni. We also have teachers who specialise in Blue Coat entrance exam prep.
Our workshops usually run at weekends, or during school holidays. You can check our Workshops page to check upcoming dates and book one for your child.
Any number of workshops will help your child, but students who attend regularly improve dramatically.
Our workshops are for pupils in Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5.
Pupils start preparing at all different ages and still do well. That said, starting earlier is always better, which is why we run preparation workshops for Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5.
